Fort Myers (or Ft. Myers) is a city in Lee County, Florida, United States, as well as the county seat and commercial hub. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 62,298; by 2020, it had increased to 86,395. Together with the larger and more residential Cape Coral, it anchors a metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in Lee County with a 2019 population of 770,577.

Fort Myers is a major tourist destination in Florida and a gateway to the Southwest Florida region. Major attractions include the winter estates of Thomas Edison (“Seminole Lodge”) and Henry Ford (“The Mangoes”). The city was named after a local fort constructed during the Seminole Wars. In 1850, the fort was renamed after Colonel Abraham Myers, who served in the United States Army, primarily in the Quartermaster Department, from 1833 to 1861 and was the quartermaster general of the Confederate States Army from 1861 to 1864.

Cape Coral

Southwest Florida’s Cape Coral is renowned for its many canals. Sirenia Vista Park is home to manatees and offers kayak routes to Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve, where birds wade among mangroves. Naples

Naples is a city in southwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico that is known for its upscale shopping and golf courses. The Naples Pier, which was constructed in 1888, is the city’s icon and a popular fishing and dolphin-watching spot. It is bordered by miles of beaches with calm waters and sugar-white sand, including those in Clam Pass Park and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park.
